About Nadia Gaudet

Winnipeg songstress Nadia Gaudet’s emotionally charged songs and captivating stage presence have lead to numerous awards on the francophone music scene. She was a finalist at the renowned Festival international de la chanson de Granby in 2003 and she was named as a Sacré Talents by Montreal’s Radio-Canada in 2004. She experiments with eerie melodies, ethereal harmonies, melding English and French lyrics, drawing from her Métis heritage, and continually pushing the limits of her musicality as a singer-songwriter and pianist. She released her first full length album in 2006, which was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award. Influenced by the 7 piece post-rock band …and then nothing, she went on to release a self-titled EP in 2010, highlighting her penchant for ambient pop melodies and electronic beats. The nocturnal nature of her sound draws from her ghostly singing style, honest lyrics and dreamy piano melodies.

Woven Thread

Teach me the waters

Show me the land

Help me to cast the net, no fear

Teach me to stand

He will guide my spirit home

He will rise up from the ash and brave the storm

He is the woven thread

He is the prairie road ahead

Chante les mots de ma mere

Danse les gigues de mes frères

Aide-moi à suivre tes pas, sans peurs

Je t’offre mon Coeur

She will guide my spirit home

She will rise up from the ash and brave the storm

She is the woven thread

She is the prairie road ahead

La route est longue

But we walk proud, our heart beats strong

We will guide our spirit home

We will rise up from the ash and brave the storm

We are the woven thread

We are the prairie road ahead

I will guide my spirit home

I will rise up from the ash and brave the storm

I am the woven thread

I am the prairie road ahead
